Jo Cuppa
Jo Cuppa, also known as the Driptamer, is a companion and close friend of Jim Bean Espresso in the Pour Boy universe. He is notable for his bright, upbeat personality and his mysterious ability to summon and control hundreds of small droplets known as the Drips.
The Drips
[edit]Jo possesses the power to call forth and command up to a hundred tiny droplets. These Drips appear to have faint personalities of their own, often behaving independently with quirks and moods. They move with a hive-mind awareness, capable of following tasks and forming basic shapes, but they are incapable of speech or complex thought. Jo refers to them as “tamed,” though their true origin remains unknown.
Personality
[edit]Jo is energetic, excitable, and defiantly joyful (eg. “golden retriever energy”). He meets hardship and tragedy with laughter and optimism, treating smiles and joy as his own form of resistance. His presence serves as a counterbalance to Espresso’s more cynical demeanor.
Relationship with the Brew Cycle
[edit]The origin of Jo’s powers and the Drips themselves is mysterious. Some suggest they are fragments of the Brew Cycle, while others believe Jo himself is tied to its hidden currents. Jo does not speculate on their nature, simply saying: “They’re my Drips.”
Role Beside Jim Bean Espresso
[edit]Jo is the trusted ally and companion of Jim Bean Espresso. Where Jim is grounded and bitter, Jo is lighthearted and uplifting. Together, they complement each other’s strengths, balancing cynicism with joy and clarity with hope.
